Scientific & Research Activities

The institute conducts an active research and development work aimed at improving the quality of the educational process. Teaching staff carries out scientific and research work on improvement of the national legal system, international legal mechanisms to ensure the integration of Belarus into the world economic system, modern IT-technologies in education, and others.

An important result of the research activities of the institute is the publication of educational and scientific literature (textbooks, monographs, articles, abstracts), scientific conferences, including international, on topical issues in Law, Economics and Humanities. Textbooks and monographs of our teachers are highly demanded in the book market, not only in Belarus, but also the neighboring CIS and EurAsEC.

The institute publishes the scientific journal «Socio-economic and legal research», which is included in the list of Higher Attestation Commission. It has the ability to print not only the employees of the institute, but also scientists of other higher education institutions of the country and abroad.

BIP holds international cooperation with a number of leading higher educational establishments of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Republic of Poland, Lithuania and other countries. We implement actively an agreement with the Polish Institute in Minsk on cooperation and information exchange. Fruitful co-operation has developed with an educational consortium FUTURUS (Poland), in which our graduates have the opportunity to obtain two diplomas.

The main forms of International cooperation are:

  • preparation and holding international R&D conferences at the Belarusian Institute of Law;
  • participation in the international R&D conferences and workshops;
  • supervision of undergraduates and postgraduates for participation in international R&D conferences and contests;
  • internship of the teaching staff and undergraduates abroad;
  • advising on programs of the International R&D funds and R&D activities.

Master’s degree

For foreign citizens:

Language of instruction: Russian.

Reception of documents: from July 5 to October 30, 2017.

The graduate students are those who have a diploma of higher education in the relevant specialty, and the recommendation of the university / institute for training at the second stage of higher education (magistracy) (for graduates of the current year).

Foreign citizens are enrolled in graduate study for training on a paid basis without passing an entrance exam. Foreign citizens and stateless persons who temporarily stay or temporarily reside in the Republic of Belarus can enter institutions of higher education for higher education of the second stage by the results of the interview, which establishes the level of their mastery of the language of instruction in amounts sufficient to absorb the content of the higher education program of the II stage.

Admission documents
  1. An application addressed to the Rector in the prescribed form.
  2. The original and a copy of the education document confirming the citizenship of higher education equivalent to the one level of higher education of the Republic of Belarus, indicating the subjects studied and the marks (points) received, certified by the admission committee, or copies of the diploma of higher education and attachments to it (certified by the admission committee).
  3. Documents confirming Belarusian nationality (for Belarusians who are citizens of foreign countries or stateless persons).
  4. The conclusion of the medical consultation commission issued by the health care institution «33rd city student’s polyclinic».
  5. A medical report on the state of health and a certificate of absence of HIV infection issued by the official health authority of the country from which the candidate for study came.
  6. The original and a copy of the identity document, with a study visa to the Republic of Belarus, certified in accordance with the established procedure.
  7. 4 photos with a size of 3×4 cm.

If the documents listed above are executed in a foreign language they are simultaneously accompanied by their translation into Belarusian or Russian, certified by a notary.

Management of research activities in BIP graduate school is carried out by highly qualified teaching staff, among which Honored Lawyers of the Republic of Belarus, Doctors and Candidates of Sciences (PhDs).

BIP undergraduates have also the opportunity to parallel study at universities in the Republic of Poland. As a result of this training graduates receive 2 Master’s degrees: Belarusian and European.

Foreign citizens enrolling in postgraduate school must have a higher education at the level of the Master of Science.

Foreign citizens are enrolled in postgraduate study for training on a paid basis without passing an entrance exam in a special discipline. At the same time, the inclination of the person entering research work, as well as the level of mastery of the language of instruction, sufficient for mastering the educational program of postgraduate study, is determined by the results of the interview.

Admission documents
  1. The original and a copy of the master’s degree, an excerpt from the record-examination sheet or another document on education equivalent to the second stage of higher education in the Republic of Belarus, indicating the disciplines studied and the marks (points) received.
  2. A notarized translation of the document on education, if it is made in a foreign language, and a copy thereof.
  3. A certificate of recognition of a document on education and establishing its equivalence to the second stage of higher education in the Republic of Belarus (for education documents issued in a foreign country).
  4. Medical conclusion about the state of health (absence of HIV, Tuberculosis, hepatitis) and the possibility of living in the climatic conditions of the Republic of Belarus, issued by the official health authority of the country from which the foreigner arrived, its notarized translation into Russian.
  5. Passport with an entry visa to the Republic of Belarus (for citizens of countries with a visa regime), a copy thereof and a notarized translation into Russian (if it contains information only in a foreign language).
  6. 2 photos in the size of 3×4 cm.
  7. The policy of compulsory medical insurance for foreign citizens.
  8. Written direction of an authorized organization, certified in accordance with the established procedure, if a foreign citizen arrives in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, treaties on the implementation of international programs, inter-university agreements or the direction of organization of a foreign state.

If the documents listed above are executed in a foreign language they are simultaneously accompanied by their translation into Belarusian or Russian, certified by a notary.

Scientific management of preparation of dissertation research is carried by the best BIP specialists, as well as scientists from other universities and scientific institutions of the country. Due to the efficient work of the Postgraduate School 25 people defended the thesis for the degree of Candidate of Juridical Sciences.

The institute has established effective contacts with many foreign universities, through which young scientists can pass scientific training in leading international and European research centers.
